Fire Safety Equipment

There are various fire safety equipment each serving a specific fire safety function. Fire blankets for example work by cutting the supply of oxygen at the fire to extinguish it. They are ideal for small fires especially in home settings. Fire extinguishers quench fires by spraying fire retardant agent on the fire. A fire hose reel is a hose pipe that is connected to a water source or foam reservoir and releases the water or fire retardant foam under pressure to help in fighting fires in an emergency. Another important fire safety equipment is safety signs. These are placed in appropriate places in the workplace or public areas and help direct people to safety in case of an emergency. Other equipment include first aid kits, evacuation equipment, fire safety kits and smoke detectors.
